It’s summertime! The hot and humid weather in the Philippines is reaching fever pitch, making everyone want to go to the beach. A Filipino-style summer outing won’t be complete without the staple dishes that’s easy to prepare, matches the weather at syempre, masarap! For sure, alam nyo na to, but when a simple and ordinary dish is done right added with a dash of Ajinomoto®, it can make all the difference.

Grilled Tilapia

Outdoor activities call for outdoor cooking. You can never go wrong with a Grilled Tilapia recipe using AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning for that rich umami goodness.

First step is to season your Tilapia with salt, pepper, AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning, calamansi, and cooking oil. Second, on a separate bowl, combine garlic, red onions, and tomatoes for the stuffing in your Tilapia.

Next step, we stuff our Tilapia with the mixed ingredients from the previous step. Then we wrap the Tilapia with banana leaves or aluminum foil before grilling to maintain its shape and for that perfect steam. Time for the grilling! Grill the Tilapia for 5 mins each side. For garnish, you may also opt for grill-friendly vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, and slices of lemon then add to your serving plate later.

Finally, after grilling our Tilapia, we transfer fish onto the plate and garnish with the grilled vegetables. Enjoy!

Pork Barbeque

Here in the Philippines, anything on a stick taste really good. Right? And on top of the list is the Filipino Pork Barbeque, perfectly marinated with SARSAYA® Oyster Sauce for that right balance of sweet and salty taste.

First step, on a large bowl, combine pork kasim, crushed garlic, SARSAYA® Oyster Sauce, ketchup, calamansi, pepper, soy sauce and sugar. Marinate for at least an hour.

Second step, we skew the marinated pork onto the barbeque sticks. For our basting sauce, on a small bowl mix butter, SARSAYA®, brown sugar, and soy sauce.

Third step, grill the pork barbeque for 5-7 minutes while flipping every 2 minutes. While grilling, we baste the sauce made to the pork barbeque to absorb the flavors.

Last step, transfer the pork barbeque onto a plate and savor every bite of it!
