AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning


  • 1 kilo (1000g) Lean beef, sirloin, steak cut
  • 1/8 cup (25g) Calamansi juice
  • 3 1/2 Tbsp. (55g) Soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsps. (20g) Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. (2g) Black pepper, ground
  • 1/2 pack (5.5g) AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning
  • 2 Tbsps. (30g) Cooking oil
  • 1/3 cup (60g) White onion, sliced
  • 1/3 cup (80g) Water


  1. MARINATE. In a bowl, add beef, calamansi juice, soy sauce, garlic, pepper, and AJI-NO-MOTO®. Massage marinade into the meat and marinate for at least an hour.
  2. SAUTE. Heat oil in a pan, saute onion until translucent. Set aside onions.
  3. SEAR. In the same pan, sear beef while reserving the marinade. Cook meat until both sides are browned.
  4. SIMMER. Add reserved marinade and water. Simmer for 40 minutes.
  5. SERVE. Transfer into serving plates. Serve and enjoy.

Cooking Tips

You can marinate beef in the mixture in a longer period of time to maximize penetration of flavor..
