Post-holiday Soup

AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning


  • 1 1/2 tbsp (20ml) Cooking Oil
  • 1 1/4 cup (300g) Leftover Ham, cubed
  • 2/3 cup (100g) White Onion, minced
  • 2/3 cup (100g) Celery stems, cubed
  • 2/3 cup (100g) Carrots, cubed
  • 2/3 cup (100g) Corn, canned
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) Water
  • 4 tbsp (30g) Cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 cup (350ml) Milk
  • 1 pack (10g) AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning
  • 1 tsp (5g) Chili Flakes
  • 1 1/2 tsp (8g) Salt
  • 1 tsp (5g) White Pepper


  1. SAUTE. Put cooking oil into a saucepan. Sauté ham first then set aside. Place the onions, celery stems, carrots and corn in the same pan until browned. Set aside the vegetables.
  2. SOUP. In the saucepan, mix water and cornstarch. Cook until light brown. Then add the milk and ham. Lastly, add the cooked vegetables and boil.
  3. SEASON and SERVE. Add the AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning, chili flakes, salt and pepper to taste. Serve on a bowl.

Cooking Tips

Sauté the ham and vegetables thoroughly to add more flavor to the dish.
